Hey, and welcome to CS First Social Media!
I’m Aaron, and I will lead you through a computer science exploration over the next8 days of this club.
Today, you’ll learn what computer science is, see the programs, stories, and games you’llcreate in this club, and finally, make your very first computer program in Google CS FirstSocial Media!
CS First Social Media is a computer science club.
Computer science, or CS, uses computers to make amazing projects, (also called programs)that allow people to play, entertain themselves and others, solve problems, do work, and savetime.
In this club, you'll learn all the different ways computer science relates to things youdo and see every day--you might be surprised!
The projects you will build in this club will all relate to social media.
Social media websites allow users to interact, create, share ideas, and exchange information.
Some popular examples of social media sites are G+, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
The computer science concepts you will learn in this club are the same concepts used tocreate these popular websites and applications.
Computer science allows people to build a variety of projects and solve many types ofproblems, from using computers to study concussions in football players, to designing an app thatlets users sell their homemade goods over the internet.
Over the next 8 club sessions, you’ll discover some incredible creations people build andproblems people solve using computer science.
You will also learn how to use computer science to create your own Social Media projects andapplications.
You will leave this club with a portfolio of your own projects and a basic understandingof computer science concepts.
Take a look at these Social Media projects that you’ll get to build over the next 8club sessions.
These are just some example projects.
You'll customize each project to make it your own.
