In this add-on, you’ll be challenged to animate words to create a comic book-like appearance. Many times in comic books or graphic novels, words are used to emphasize actions, like “bam” when someone gets hit, or “pop” when someone appears suddenly. To do this, you’ll need to find an action in your story to emphasize. Is there someone falling or running into something? Did someone just do a neat trick or something special or surprising?

Once you’ve chosen an action to emphasize, create a new sprite, type your “action” word, like “smash,” “whoosh,” or “ka-blam,” then design it! Use the tools in the costume editor to decorate your action word and make it look exciting!

Use a “broadcast” block to tell the word sprite when to appear and when to hide.

You can even use “motion” and “looks” blocks to change how the word sprite looks when it appears.
