In today’s project, you used two new computer science concepts: randomness and loops.
Loops are an absolutely essential part of computer science and programming. They are used in everything from medicine to video games.
Without loops, artists and DJs wouldn’t be able to create electronic music. Take a moment to watch this video of a DJ playing a song. You’ll notice that many sounds are played in a loop and layered on top of each other. See if you can spot all the loops the DJ uses in this song.
The technology that the DJ uses was made with computer science. A little knowledge about how computers are programmed helps DJs create new music. DJs and artists use loops all the time to create instrument tracks and drumbeats for the songs you love.
