In this example, Cassy's picking
random things to say from a list of word and phrases.
To do this, you have to make a list
of all the things Cassy could say.
Do this by clicking on Make a List.
The list can be seen by all sprites.
In this example, this is gonna be full
of things CS is, so it's called, CS is.
Name your list, then click OK.
Now that you have your list, you need
to put words into it for the sprite to say.
To add words, drag out the add to block,
type the words you wanna add, then click the block.
For example, if you want one of the words
in the list to be impressive, just type impressive
in the white box, then click the block.
You can write any words or phrases you like.
To make Cassy say things from the list,
use a say block, and an item of CS is block.
Right now, it says Item of CS is.
In this example, item one says impressive.
That means, if you place the block inside the say block,
it will make Cassy say whatever it is in item one of list.
In this case, she should say impressive.
Test your code to see if it works.
To make the sprite say the second item on the list,
replace item one with item two.
Test your code.
Nice, the sprite says the second item in the list.
To make the sprite say something random,
put a pick random block in place of that number.
Make sure the lower number is one, and the higher number
matches the number of items in your list.
The list in this example has six items,
so the pick random block says pick random from one to six.
Now you can test your code to see what happens.
The sprite should say something random from the list.
Next, program your sprite to say a phrase
before saying something from the list.
In this example, Cassy says, CS is,
before she says an item from the list.
You can make anything you wanna happen in your program.
Now try it out.
